KeKeZ (Ke Zhang) (b. 2001, China) received her BA in Digital Media Arts from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and is currently pursuing her MFA at Columbia University School of the Arts. Her interdisciplinary practice includes video, performance, and sculpture. As a dancer, Ke integrates movement deeply into her artistic exploration. Her works have been exhibited internationally in New York, London, Shanghai, Suzhou, and Jingdezhen.

KeKeZ explores the body's perceptions through experience, emphasizing visceral engagement and instinctive responses in her art. Her practice involves video, performance, sculpture, and photography, focusing on the expression and rhythm of the human body and the tension between mind and physical self. Ke is highly sensitive to the concept of “gaze,” a sensitivity sharpened by her background as a dancer and stage performer. She delves into power dynamics and gender norms, particularly examining how women navigate and present their bodies in the digital age. Her work frequently unfolds in intimate settings such as bathrooms, hotel rooms, or massage parlors, juxtaposing personal spaces with broader public discourses. Chaos is a recurring motif, as her pieces often depict orderly scenes descending into disorder. Preferring solo narratives, she centers her protagonists in dynamic interactions with their environments and intertwined elements of the everyday with absurdist humor.
